Whippoorwill Cowpea

85 days Well known as the old standard for general purpose cowpeas however it is becoming quite rare. Whippoorwill peas date well back before the War Between the States. They are spoken of as bush type peas but will produce vines when planted on rich soil, but if planted on poor soil they produce few vines but many peas. The plants are very prolific and grow upright, two or more feet tall. The seeds are light brown, smooth and speckled.
