Murasaki is a ‘Japanese type’ sweet potato released by the University of Louisiana.

Murasaki has reddish-purple skin and a dry white flesh having a ‘nutty’ flavor.

Murasaki has a high resistance to root knot and Rhizopus soft rot. Also resistant to Fusarium wilt, Fusarium root rot and Soil rot.
