are a small family owned and operated seed company who after many
years of offering seeds to our local area neighbors and friends decided to venture into
offering our seeds by
web based ordering beginning in 2004. We feel web based ordering is a great portal in
getting our old and rare varieties out to our customers in a fast and
friendly way. By
doing so helps to insure their continued survival so gardeners will
continue to have the opportunity to enjoy these plants from the past for
years to come.
Web-based Ordering:
Simply browse our online
catalog, add the items you desire to your cart. During the checkout
process, you will have the opportunity to change the quantities, remove
items (by clicking the delete button beside the item name), or
continuing to shop. You may then place your order securely using Visa,
MasterCard or Discover.
Mail Order:
As
stated below we do not at this time have a printed catalog but we do
offer the customer an option of ordering by mail if they wish to pay by
other means such as check or money order.
Place
your order online and at checkout choose either money order or check as
your payment method, then simply mail in your payment to us within 7
days.

Printed catalog
We do not offer a printed
catalog, the cost makes it prohibitive at this time as well as our seed
varieties are in limited supply and stock levels can change very quickly
and this makes a printed catalog unfeasible. Our hope and goal
is to make your on-line shopping experience enjoyable, secure and easy for all our customers
and friends.
You can shop our online
catalog to place your order and have the option of paying with check or
money order. (see above)
Terms of Payment:
Credit Cards
Full
payment is due, in U.S dollars, with each order.
We
accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. There
is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases. Please be
sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone
number (i.e. the address and phone number your credit card bank has on
file for you). Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing
your order.

Money Orders,
Cashier’s Checks, Company Checks, & Personal Checks
We accept money orders, cashier’s checks,
personal checks, and company checks in U.S. Dollars only. Orders are
processed upon receipt of a money order or cashier’s check. For personal
and company checks, please allow up to 10-14 banking days after receipt for
clearance of funds before the order is processed. We cannot guarantee
the availability of a product by the time funds clear or payment is
received. We will charge a $30 fee on all returned checks.
Order Acceptance Policy
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does
not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute
confirmation of our offer to sell. New Hope Seed Company reserves the right at
any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for
any reason or to supply less than the quantity you ordered of any item.
Taxes
Orders shipped to the
state of Tennessee are subject to 9.75% sales tax of the total (this
includes shipping).
Tennessee Sales Tax
Effective January 1, 2008, Tennessee customers will now be required to
pay sales tax on seed, plants and shipping/handling fees for such items according to the new
provisions set forth by the Tennessee Dept. of Revenue (http://state.tn.us/revenue/misc/farmerexemption.htm).
Only farmers who have a Tax Exempt certificate from the Dept of Revenue
are exempt from paying sales taxes on seeds and plants.
If
you have a tax exempt certificate you will need to send us a copy for
our records if you do not wish to pay sales tax on seeds plants and shipping
charges for these items.

Business Hours:
We have no set “in office”
business hours. Much of our time is spent in the fields and working on
orders, please refer to our
“Contact Us” page for further information
and a better understanding of our hours.
Purchase
Orders and Federal EIN
We
do not accept purchase orders. They are expensive and time consuming to
process. Most times the costs associated with processing a purchase
order would be more than the seed order itself.
Backorder Policy
We try to keep our website
updated on a regular basis which allows us to make changes as quickly
as possible in the case we run out of a particular variety or package
size. But in the case we are out of a particular item when your order
is received we will refund you. If you are interested in substitutions, let us know.
We
have a new feature in our cart system called "Waiting List". For items
listed as "Out of Stock" you can click on the waiting list button
and record your interest in being notified when the item is again
available. You will be emailed promptly when that item of interest is
relisted.
Shipping:

At this time we use the
U.S. Postal service as our carrier and shipping is by either First Class
or Priority Mail.
We don’t attempt
to make money on shipping. We
simply try to recoup some of the cost associated with filling and
shipping an order such as padded envelopes, fuel (trips to the post
office), boxes, postage, bank fees, etc. If we didn't cover costs, our preservation work
would be put at risk and we wouldn't be in business very long.
Shipping Time -- Most
orders ship within 3 business days of receipt of order, provided the
product ordered is in stock, (with the exception of plants that ship at
a different time and are shipped separately from other items). There can
be delays during the busiest time of the spring season. Orders are not
processed or shipped on Saturday or Sunday.
Multiple Product Orders
:
For a multiple product
order, we will make every attempt to ship all products contained in the
order at the same time with the exception of plants which ship at a
different time and separately from other items. Products that are
unavailable at the time of shipping will be shipped as they become
available, unless you inform us otherwise. You will only be charged for
products contained in a given shipment, plus any applicable shipping
charges. You will only be charged for shipping at the rate quoted to you
on your purchase receipt. The entirety of this shipping charge may be
applied to the first product(s) shipped on a multiple shipment order.
Sweet Potato plants and
tobacco plants
are typically shipped using US Priority Mail and carry free shipping.
Please use a valid email address and phone number. They will only be
used to aide in the processing of your order and required to help prevent
fraud.
Shipping
Damage Claims
We do our best at using
appropriate packing materials and cannot accept responsibility for
damage caused by the carrier. All claims for damage must be reported to
the carrier immediately and filed with the carrier by the customer.
Delays in Deliver
We cannot guarantee when
an order will arrive. Consider any shipping or transit time offered to
you by New Hope Seed Company or other parties only as an estimate. We
encourage you to order in a timely fashion to avoid delays caused by
shipping or product availability.
The New Hope Seed Company
shall not be responsible for loss or damage caused by delays in delivery
from strikes, acts of war, fire, casualty, inability to obtain materials
or other causes beyond our control.
Typographical Errors
In the event a product is
listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in
pricing information received from our suppliers, Our Store shall have
the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at
the incorrect price. Our Store shall have the right to refuse or cancel
any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your
credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for
the purchase and your order is canceled, Our Store shall immediately
issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the
incorrect price

International
Sales
Policy
We are a very small
organization and do not have the necessary resources to maintain an
export department. The world is becoming very restrictive to the flow
of goods - especially seeds.
We cannot internationally
ship plants.
Due to this increased
difficulty, we are only able to ship to
Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Scotland
at this time. If your country is not on this list, we apologize and
recommend that you use a larger company set up to export seeds.
Even if your country
is listed, you are ultimately responsible for being the importer and
agree to the following;
1.
Place
your order online and make payment with a credit card.
2.
Payments
must be made in $US. Credit cards will automatically perform the
necessary conversion. If mailing in payment, an international money
order in $US must be used.
At this time we are unable to accept international mail in orders unless
you
contact us first for the correct shipping cost before you
mail in your order. When mailing in payment, an international money
order in $US must be used.
3.
Agree to the international shipping policy (see below).
By placing an order,
you agree that:
a.
The New
Hope Seed Company is not responsible for the shipment once it leaves our
farm.
b.
You
(the purchaser) guarantee that the material being purchased is not on a
restricted list within your country. Check with your Ministry of
Agriculture or Customs Departments.
c.
You assure that you have all necessary documentation to allow entry into
your country. We cannot provide phytosanitary certificates or other
documentation that might be required by your government. No refunds on
international orders.

Merchandise
Return Policy
New Hope Seed Company
cannot accept returns after 30 days from
time of shipping or any opened seed packages. The seed would have to be
destroyed
because of potential
contamination and exposure to unregulated storage humidity and
temperature and frankly, we are just too small to absorb losses that are
not our fault.
Contact us for proper
authorization and shipping instructions prior to returning any item.
Return authorization is required before returns are accepted. No
returns will be accepted after 30 days from time of invoicing.
Once return authorization
is received, the customer is responsible for any shipping and insurance
costs. A 30% restocking fee will be charged on all acceptable
returns. Unauthorized returns will be sent back at the customer's
expense.
Sweet Potato and
Tobacco Plants cannot be returned.
Shipping and handling
is non-refundable.
Cancellations
Cancellations may be
accepted but since we package seeds as orders are received we charge a
20% restocking fee to cover wasted materials, labor, and card processing
fees.
Noxious
Weeds
Some plants that are
naturally occurring or have been cultivated for years have been deemed
by some governments, (local, state, provincial and federal) as being
classified as a noxious weed. We will not knowingly supply seed that
breaks a local law so please check the laws in your area before ordering
and planting. If you proceed to purchase these seeds from us, you do so
under the agreement that you will use them for non-planting purposes.
